The European Conference of Support and Solidarity with Saharawi People (EUCOCO) has been continuously taking place since 1975, the year of the beginning of the conflict, each year in a European city.
There have been many significant cities that have hosted this important conference for the Saharawi cause. This year, the selected city to host this important event is Berlin.
EUCOCO is, certainly, the most important annual event of the European Solidarity Movement with Saharawi People. It should, however, be noted that although the European term is still used, for a long time the EUCOCO has had global dimension with organizations and participants from all continents.
EUCOCO is an opportunity to bring together delegations from all over the world, even though still most of the participants come from European countries.
The Conference is attended, annually, by representatives of governments that recognize SADR, elected officials from European and national institutions, political and trade union organizations, friendship associations with Sahrawi People, NGOs, legal and culture personalities.
The Saharawi people also take part in this important conference. They are represented at the highest political level by senior political officials of the Saharawi Government, the National Secretariat of the Frente POLISARIO, as well as Saharawi human rights defenders, activists, delegates, associations and Saharawi civil society organizations from around the world.
The EUCOCO is a platform for reflection, analysis and coordination of concrete actions that would contribute in advancing the Saharawi cause and the right to self-determination and independence of Saharawi people.
